VRL Logistics Limited – Foray Into
Aviation
VRL Logistics Limited (VRL) was founded in
1976 by Vijay Sankeshwar, Chairman, in Hubli-a small town in
North Karnataka, the southern state in India, with a single
truck and a vision that was way ahead of its time. Starting
its operations in the General Cargo transportation, VRL has
grown into a renowned, pan-India, Logistics and Passenger Transport
Company, which is currently the largest private sector fleet
owner in India, with a fleet strength of over 2800 vehicles,
which is in the Limca book of records.
Over the years VRL has evolved itself as providers
of safe, reliable and timely delivery network, in the field
of parcel services. It has now expanded its operations into Express
Cargo to meet the growing demand for quicker and speedier
deliveries of parcels.
Currently VRL handles over 6000 MT of parcels
every day adding up to a staggering 216,000,000 MT of cargo
per annum. Apart from its core business of Cargo Transportation,
the company has diversified into Passenger Transportation.
Today VRL is one of the leading company’s in the Indian
Surface Transport Industry.
In 2007, VRL Logistics Ltd. paved its way
into the Indian Aviation Industry. It is a gradual progression
for the company, from Surface Transport to Air Transport. The
Indian Aviation Industry has experienced a tremendous growth
in the last two years, more so in the Private Aviation Sector.
Keeping in mind the market demand VRL decided
to enter the Air-charter Industry and serve the VVIP, VIP & Corporate
India.
In the first phase, VRL has acquired a brand
new, Premier Jet 1A aircraft, manufactured by Hawker Beechcraft
Corporation, USA. The company has future expansion plans to
add more aircraft and helicopters, based on the market
feedback and demand. Initially we wish to offer the Jet aircraft
on charter basis to the Corporate sector, Leisure and Tourism
sector, Medical Evacuation, Special Mission charter, Event
Management, Advertisement Agencies and VIP flights.

a brand new Premier Jet 1A aircraft, manufactured by Hawker
Beechcraft Corporation, USA. The aircraft will based inside Hubli
Airport in Karnataka State, which will be offered
on charter services, bulk-charters, wet-lease, or on any customized
requirement.

Cabin Tour
When passengers climb aboard, the first question many they ask is: "How
did Beechcraft manage to create a light jet with a 'midsize-jet' interior?" It
began with the advanced composite fuselage. It has none of the ribs and stringers
required by aluminum airframes.
That not only saved a lot of space and weight, it allowed the creation of an
interior that is roomy, quiet and comfortable with features like down-wash lighting,
contoured seats that swivel and recline, a private aft lavatory, and the availability
of a variety of audio and video entertainment systems. Traveling in a new Beechcraft
Premier IA is like having an executive office at 41,000 feet.
 
Pilots Details
We have a team of 3 pilots, of which 2 are command pilots and
1 is a co-pilot. All the pilots are well qualified and have
vast flying experience, holding valid flying license, issued/endorsed
by the Indian Civil Aviation Authorities. Moreover our pilots
have undergone classroom, simulator and flying training,
to fly the Premier Jet 1 A, at the Hawker Beechcraft certified
training center in the USA, which is further endorsed by
DGCA, Indian Civil Aviation Authority. Moreover each of them
is medically certified to be fly-worthy by a “Class
A” medical officer.

Charter Tariff Terms and Conditions
The rates for various charges applicable for charter flights
are as below.

Terms & Conditions:

We charge Minimum Flight Charge for 3 hour per day, even
if the flying hours are less than 3 hours per day.

Aircraft Waiting Charges for 1st 6 hours of stay on Day
1, is free after which Rs.5000 per hour, will be charged
till 1900 hrs. After 1900 hrs. Night halt charges will be
charged @ Rs.50000 per night. On Day 2 post 0700 hrs. waiting
charges will be applicable @ of Rs.5000 per hour till take
off.

Airport charges including Landing/Parking, Navigation and
other Charges for the flight will be borne by the client
at actual.

Crew Accommodation charges extra @ Rs.15000 per crew/per
day or night and Car Transportation at actual for outstation
stay more than 4 hrs.

Watch Hour Extension will be charged extra at actual, from
the client (not included in the above table).

Charges towards transportation costs of fuel (by road/rail/air),
if any will be borne by the client

In case of any additional flying done due to bad weather
or non-availability of permission from AAI to land at destined
location (due to bad weather, labour strike or any other
crises), then charges towards such additional flying undertaken
to divert the flight to the nearest alternate airport, will
be borne by the Customer and the Customer shall make the
final payment based on the invoice submitted after determining
the total flying hours logged in the Journey Log Book (JLB)
by the Pilot/s.

Force Majeure: The charter service provider
(VRL Logistics Limited) is not responsible for non-operation
of the said charter flight, in case of last minute flight
cancellation/postponement due to, pilot/s becoming medically
unfit, technical snag/s in the aircraft, bad weather (pre
take-off or after airborne), airport staff/labour strike,
non-availability of civil and/or defense clearance, war,
natural calamity or acts of God.

Cancellation charges: Cancellation charges for a confirmed
flight would be as below:
- Less than 72 hours and upto 24 hours before the flight
departure time: 50% of the flight charges
- Less than 24 hours before the flight departure time:
100% of the flight charges

Payment: 100% in advance by a Demand Draft in favour of
“VRL Logistics Limited”. Flight will be confirmed only on
receipt of your confirmed acceptance of our quotation and
100% advance payment.
- VRL Logistics Ltd. will obtain the necessary permissions
and statutory clearances from all concerned authorities.
